Karina Synytsia was born in the city of Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) in 1999, and currently lives and works in Kyiv. From 2015 to 2019, she studied at the Department of Fine Arts of the Kharkiv Art College, majoring in painting. In 2023, she graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAFAA) with a degree in monumental and easel painting. In her practice, she works with painting, collage, animation and embroidery. In her works, she depicts architectural structures and constructions, as well as landscapes, focusing on the emptiness, void and dilapidation of these spaces and objects. However, the architectural elements themselves become mere decorations of urban space. Meanwhile, at the thematic and figurative centre of her works lies the revelation of human feelings, emotional states and social aspects of life.
