Oleg Holosiy is a Ukrainian artist, member of the famous artistic community of Paris Commune squat in Kyiv. His artistic practice is widely associated with the so-called “New Wave” of Ukrainian art along with fellow artists Valeria Trubina, Oleksandr Hnylytskyi, Yurii Solomko and others. Born in Dnipropetrovsk in 1965. He graduated from The State Art College in Dnipropetrovsk, studio of L. Antoniuk (1986) and Kyiv State Art Institute, monumental painting department in Kyiv (1990). He participated in milestone exhibitions of the early 1990’s, such as Still (Kyiv, 1992) and Postanesthesia (1992, Munich). His monumental piece Psychedelic Attack of Blue Rabbits was acquired to the collection of Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum (Glasgow, Scotland). In the early 1990’s Holosiy worked with Regina gallery (Moscow). Tragically died in 1993.
From May 2019 onwards The Naked Room took over the artistic heritage of Oleg Holosiy.
